libsylph-dev software package provides e-mail client library derived from Sylpheed - devel files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsylph-dev
libsylph-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsylph-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsylph-dev *
You will get with libsylph-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
